Building a Foundation: Curtis Mayfield
This musician/writer helped in creating a magical land where you could hear delectable instrumentals, smooth delivery, airtight beats and a lyrical message... and as time passed, this land he helped create has evolved into what we now know as the land of true hip-hop soul. Thank you Curtis Mayfield. May you rest in peace, and may your music never rest.
Ms. Spoken: Verses from YOtaty86
Sometimes you run across something that you wish you could share with the entire world. This spoken word piece is that thing. I want to let YOtaty86 know how she has touched me and obviously many others with her poetry. This is titled, appropriately, "SHE." Subscribe to her YouTube channel to hear more of her work.

The Maestros: Pete Rock
The Maestros are the creators of the music. The music is the inspiration behind many verses. It would only be right to showcase one of the best Hip-Hop producers of all time: Pete Rock. This is from his "Pete Rock: The Surviving Elements from Soul Survivor II Sessions" album. It's called "You Remind Me." Reminiscent of a 1970's Al Green song.
